SUNSET CRAFTSMAN CO.'s bags are made of durable Kurashiki canvas, an item that shows craftsmanship. The founder himself handles the entire process from cutting the fabric to painting and assembling the bags, which reveals the uncompromising spirit of craftsmanship and the desire that customers will use the bags for a long time. If your everyday bag has such a wonderful background, it will be like a talisman that supports you, and you will want to continue using it with care for a long time. We hope you will enjoy the changes in texture that occur as you use the bag and cherish it for a long time.
For the third time, we are introducing a new series of products with diagonally painted colors. This design is possible only with paint, and it is interesting to note that the colors are reversed on the front and back sides. This is a bag that can be used in two ways, with different colors to match different outfits.
A sturdy tote that firmly supports you
The One-Handle Shoulder (M) PINE No. 9 SCCP005 is a tote bag with plenty of capacity that can be slung over the shoulder. The bag is vertically long, so it does not bulge even if you put a lot of stuff in it, making it look sleek and neat. The spacious gusset makes it a convenient size for daily use, such as a commuter bag for carrying a PC or a lot of A4 size documents. Although this canvas bag is more casual, it goes well with a jacket and heels, so it can also be used as a daytime bag.
It is recommended for those who want to carry a little more luggage, or for those who want to carry it over their shoulder. It can also be used on days when you plan to carry more luggage for shopping, or as a bag to carry on short trips. It is also comfortable to carry on rainy days when you use an umbrella. We also recommend the two pockets on the inside for easy storage of keys, traffic cards, smartphones, and other items that you need to take out quickly.
Powerful and delicate. Manufacturing that makes a difference
The durable cotton canvas used as the main material is from Kurashiki, Okayama, which is well known as a major canvas producing area. Among them, it is woven by a canvas manufacturer that has been in business for over 100 years and specializes in extremely thick fabrics. For this bag, we used a sturdy No. 9 canvas, which is lightweight but also used for truck sails. After painting, dry and wash with a scrubbing brush to remove shine and firmly fix the paint. After many days of work, the durable canvas will become even more water resistant and durable.
This paint, which also illuminates the authentic canvas bag, is inspired by the vintage bags found in the United States. A military duffel bag that the owner painted on the bottom, probably for waterproofing at the time. Whether it's a house, a garage, or a tool, I strongly sympathize with the spirit of lovingly using things, devising and modifying them to make them easier to use.
Material selection calculated over time
The leather used for the handles is also processed by a well-known manufacturer in Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture. Full vegetable tannin leather with a unique recipe is made by carefully tanning high-quality cowhide over a long period of time. With the glazing finish, you can enjoy aging with a unique shine in addition to firmness and elasticity.
The round plate that represents the brand name is a combination of copper and solid brass, and the copper plate that is cut out by hand is engraved character by character. This plate is riveted with brass, and the different textures create a deeper look over time. In addition, the small rivets with inner pockets can be seen from the outside, adding a subtle spice to the design. This kind of sensation that exudes from many years of experience creates a simple yet fashionable overall feeling.

SUNSET CRAFTSMAN (Sunset Craftsman) has a workshop in Akatsuki, Okayama Prefecture. When I cut out only the studio which renovated the public hall built before the war, it seems as if I got lost in an American rural town. In a studio with such an atmosphere, quiet and genuine production exists. Takuhei Kanayama, who has been a vintage-close dealer throughout the United States for many years, has continued to look at what has long been used by hand-in-hand after polite things that are not about mass production efficiency. From then on, I arrived at the desire to make only what I really needed, and I started working on a product that I like to use for a long time like vintage closure and stick to the appearance of taste every time I use it.
Keeping high quality is one of the great features of this product, as it is all about cutting and sewing the fabric with one hand, sewing, painting, cutting out leather parts and plates, engraving and assembling. Except for sewing work using a sewing machine, full handmade is used to make products that are robust and full of a sense of craft. While traveling all over the United States, Kanayama's most pleasant town was California, Sunset. The name of the land is the name of the brand because of the desire to create an ideal pleasant environment.
