Arrangement is the end of the lovingly prepared dish, isn't it? It is an important approach to entertain the eater, not only in taste but also in appearance. A set of two Burleigh plates can be easily and beautifully presented to add color to the ingredients. The plate is made by a historic pottery maker in England, which has an afternoon tea culture, so it has a fashionable and elegant atmosphere.
The original color of the ingredients is emphasized from sandwiches and bread, and since it is a shallow plate, even a small amount does not make you feel unsatisfactory, and it can be used not only for salads but also for main dishes such as meat and fish.
Also, since the edge has a rise and rim of about 15 mm, it is a nice point that you can use it with confidence even for slightly juicy dishes such as pasta and gratin. It is such a plate that gives fun to everyday cooking.
Enjoy together
When you say your favorite pattern is Burleigh tableware, you can enjoy arranging various patterns with your favorite pattern.
This time, we will deliver a set of two cereal bowls with the same pattern. It will create a gorgeous dining table with traditional English tableware. We have prepared 3 patterns this time.
The black-based, chic and cool impression of "Black Legal Peacock" was specially unveiled in 1913 for King George and Queen Mary. It depicts the elegant peacock that appears in "The Oriental Fairy Tale of Choosing the King of Birds". It wasn't produced in recent years, but it was reprinted in 2014. Since it is a historical pattern, the copper plate has also deteriorated, so it was re-engraved for this reprint. There is an elegance that has no other monochrome contrast.
A bright blue "Blue Calico" that catches everyone's eyes. Burleigh's representative design is popular for its high-contrast colors. In Japan, Prunas, which is called "Niwazakura", is designed with the image of falling on ice. .
"Gray Calico" with a gentle color and elegance. It is called dub gray and means pigeon color. The image is gentle and elegant like a dove, a symbol of peace.
Burleigh tableware, which is bright and brilliant in everyday life, has a good impression as a plate to be used when visiting customers, so it is recommended as a gift for those who are welcoming a new life or as a celebration of marriage or moving.
Making products that inherit traditional techniques
Burleigh, which feels good old England, has some antiques on the market, and the reason is that there is a traditional manufacturing method like a print called "copper plate transfer" that has been going on for 200 years.
"Copper plate transfer" is also a craftsman's job to make the plate itself, and it seems that it takes more than 6 weeks to hand-carve a fine pattern on a roll-shaped copper plate using various needles and complete one pattern. ..
It is made by applying ink to the copper plate, copying the pattern on flat paper, and then copying it to three-dimensional pottery before the ink on the paper dries. Every process is done by a dedicated craftsman, and Burleigh is the only manufacturer that has inherited the technology to date.
In addition, the soil is also made in the United Kingdom, and we are particular about making raw materials. The soil used is constantly stirred in a liquid state by a device called a slip house, and when it reaches an appropriate concentration, it is poured into a plaster mold. After that, it is stored in a drying rack for several days, and when it dries, it is removed from the mold and unglazed is completed. The unglazed state, which uses a sponge to smooth the surface one by one, also involves a very delicate process.
In this way, the gorgeous pattern of tableware, which is created one by one by hand, has the warmth of being made by humans, which is not in mass production in this era. The shades of color and the position of the patterns differ in the continuous patterns, but please imagine making such things.
Blessed with rich soil and climate
Burleigh was born in Stoke-on-Trent, the village of British pottery.
Founded in 1851 (Victorian era) by Frederick Burgess, William Leigh, it has a history of more than 170 years, blessed with abundant coal and pottery as fuel, and abundant soil and climate suitable for pottery. Using the traditional technique of "copper transfer" from the time of its founding, we have mainly made tableware necessary for the custom of English tea culture. The factory is now designated as an important cultural property and has become a nationally cherished building. In manufacturing, we chose a method that does not waste raw materials even if it takes time, and respects the earth. We are making things with gratitude.
The warm Burleigh tableware, which is carefully made by many people, is a tableware and manufacturing that we want to inherit 100 years and 200 years from now.

Using the traditional technique of "copper transfer" from the time of its founding, we mainly made tableware necessary for the custom of English tea culture. Burleigh pottery is all made in England from the soil, and even now, about 100 craftsmen make one by one by the same method as when it was founded, such as mold manufacturing, copper plate transfer, and glazing. It is full of handmade tastes such as warm colors and a form that is familiar to the hands.
