I continue to make harnesses. Among the harnesses, the belt that connects the horse's armor and saddle had to be strong enough to withstand any environment. Taking advantage of the high durability of the belt, the 28mm width belt began to be used as a belt for clothes as it was. We use robust leather that has been tanned slowly over time with vegetable tannin, and that has been thoroughly permeated with the oil component of beeswax to the inside of the fiber. The engraved number is used to adjust the strength when fixing the saddle, and it is left as it is on the belt as a detail. These can only be made in a factory that mainly makes horse saddles, and as a proof of that, the belt is stamped with “Saddlery made in walsall England”.

With over 200 years of tradition, JABEZ CLIFF has continued to create sturdy harnesses that fit the body as if the rider and user were one. The quality was so high that it received a Royal Warrant, which is certified after a strict examination, and I was also involved in providing harnesses to the British equestrian competition, but due to financial difficulties, 2014 went bankrupt. However, the following year, with the assistance of Mr. Martin Fazy, harness making was resumed, and REAL HARNESS was newly launched by craftsmen at the time. The high-quality, thick leather belt, reminiscent of JABEZ CLIFF in its heyday, is proudly engraved with “Saddlery made in walsall England”, which can only be stamped on items made by a harness maker in Walsall.
