Unique fabrics carefully spun in British textile factories. WALLACE SEWELL has captivated people all over the world with its high design quality and soft, warm feel.
From the textile brand WALLACE SEWELL, we have received a woolen muffler that looks like wearable art. This slender scarf has different patterns on the front and back, allowing you to enjoy a variety of atmospheres with just one piece. The multi-colored design gives it a glamorous look, but when you roll it up, it blends in nicely.
Art that blends into daily life
CHATHAM has fun colorful colors. This pattern was inspired by a painting by British painter Florence Hutchings that the designers had seen. The impression of eye-catching paintings, many of which are based on everyday life, and the use of bright and original colors, is reflected in a single scarf. At first glance, it looks like a simple stripe, but if you look closely, you can see that each color has a different weaving method, and when you turn it over, it has a delicate impression of thin lines. I understand clearly. The colors change rapidly within one piece, so the colors that come out vary depending on how you wrap it. Every time you change the way you wind it, it seems like you'll discover something new.
The material is high-quality lambswool, and it feels gentle and won't feel prickly when it touches your scalp. The lightly swaying fringe adds expression to your styling. Another good point is that it is lightweight so it won't cause stiff shoulders. At 175cm, it is longer than a normal muffler, so it can be wrapped twice. Not only will it protect you from the cold, but it will also save you from the stress of having to re-wrap your muffler if it comes off while you're wearing it. Also, since it is relatively thin and slender, it does not add too much volume, which makes it easy to use regardless of gender or age.
The beauty of color woven by multicolored threads has a charm that attracts the attention of the viewer. Autumn/winter outfits tend to have dark tones, but with a scarf like this, you can make them look even more gorgeous. Additionally, scarves can expand your style, making them great as a stylish winter gift, such as a birthday present for a close friend.
Creative and unexpected fabric
WALLACE SEWELL is a London textile brand created by two textile designers, Harriet Wallace and Emma Swell.
The two graduated from the Royal College of Arts, which is said to be the pinnacle of universities in the field of art and design. While studying art, they were able to create patterns and compositions similar to paintings, and used thread and fiber instead of paint. I am interested in woven fabrics, which are used to mix colors and control the feel and appearance of fabrics. After graduating, Harriet used weaving to create original compositions to create fabrics for interior design, while Emma was drawn to the compositions of woven fabrics using shrinking and twisted threads and created fabrics for fashion. At their first solo exhibition held together in 1990, they unveiled modern and beautiful stoles with intricate geometric patterns, which attracted attention from buyers including Barneys New York.
Heavily influenced by Bauhaus, Germany's comprehensive art school, WALLACE SEWELL creates products that combine color, graphics, and extensive knowledge of textiles, with the philosophy of combining crafts and industrial production with traditional British techniques Wallace and Swell). He uniquely creates complex color combinations that would be difficult to create using conventional textile techniques, and his unique colors and geometric designs continue to fascinate fans around the world. In addition to WALLACE SEWELL, we also develop a wide range of textile designs, including designing upholstery for chairs on the London Underground and trains, and creating specially designed stoles for special exhibitions at the Tate Gallery.
