Sashiko-ori refers to a cotton fabric that is made by sewing different threads into a plain weave fabric to create a pattern. Originally hand-sewn, Sashiko-ori is now mechanized and woven, but it still takes a long time to weave and is very carefully woven compared to ordinary plain-woven fabric.

Furthermore, these cotton sashiko weave tuck tapered pants have an attractive expression and texture of the fabric, and the two colors available are made by changing the processing method of the fabric. The bio-processed purple is a deep purple. Bio-processing is a type of washing process that uses special enzymes to soften the surface of fabrics and create a distressed look. It has a classy color tone that gives it a Japanese feel, and although it is soft when you first wear it, it becomes more and more appealing as you wear it. On the other hand, the blue color with e-flow processing is reminiscent of washed denim. It is an environmentally friendly processing method that greatly reduces the amount of water and chemicals required for processing, and it also has a distinctive look that makes it look as if it has been worn from the beginning.

The brand's predecessor was a boutique that started in 1978. The company originally started as a store that sold purchased clothing, but in 1983 it changed its policy to manufacturing all products in-house, built a factory behind the store, and established the brand "FACTORY", which sells original wear. The brand started with just a sewing machine, but one by one the number of associates increased, and as they continued to make clothes that matched the bodies of their customers, in 1990, they wanted to create products with even more originality and went overseas in search of materials. He started going to work there and even established a dyeing workshop. Although we are a small company, we continue to make clothes with particular attention to detail, and our current form of creation, in which we handle all planning, material development, manufacturing, and production ourselves, was born.

All of FACTORY's design patterns are created at a design atelier in Tokyo. Our staff, who have extensive experience in pattern making at collection brands, create all shapes using 3D cutting and repeat sample stitching over and over again to create a design that is comfortable to wear without being tied to trends, and is simple but comfortable to wear. The result is a one-of-a-kind piece of clothing that is a bit unique. The company's factory in Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture creates clothes based on the patterns created. In addition to cutting and sewing, we also take care to dye our products and raw materials at our attached dyeing factory. This is a style of manufacturing that reflects the atmosphere of Ashikaga, a region historically known for its textile manufacturing, that is reflected in its clothes.
