The OKKAKE shirt, a standard product of SETTO, has been renewed with a thorough examination of the material and design.
SETTO's standard line has been developed without changing the design or materials since the beginning of the project. With a new start in spring/summer 2024, we will think about ways to express ourselves with the Setouchi Inland Sea as a backdrop, and we want you to feel the Setouchi through SETTO. With this in mind, we have listened to the feedback we have gathered over a long period of time and have made repeated adjustments to the fabric, button material, sleeve length, width of the body, and overall balance to make the product even more appealing. It seems that the new version has arrived.
Among these, we are particularly particular about the materials. As a textile manufacturer, SETTO takes advantage of the know-how that it has cultivated over many years. The ``comfort'' that SETTO values is what SETTO considers to be ``high quality.'' It was completed by combining the manufacturing methods of , an intuitive and easy-to-understand perspective that allows you to feel the Setouchi Inland Sea, and a perspective that allows you to feel the commitment of the production area.
We also carry pre-renewal OKKAKE shirts made of cotton, and this one is made from an elegant and soft fabric that is classified as a 50th dress shirt.
Feel the Setouchi
The fabric used is SETTO's original fabric with a focus on color and texture, and is yarn-dyed typewriter material with just the right amount of firmness using 60 count thread. The fabric is produced in Nishiwaki City, Hyogo Prefecture, which is famous for yarn dyeing. The color gradation is centered around blue, which is SETTO's brand color, to evoke the feeling of the Seto Inland Sea, the white clouds floating there, and the refreshing sky. Pure white, the light gray of the cloudy sky, clear and sunny saxophone blue, and the calming blue that is also our corporate color. Each one is finished in a color that gives it a unique feel.
In order to give it a good feel against the skin and a high-quality feel, it is washed to express fine wrinkles and grain. Afterwards, it is passed through oil to create a moisturizing effect, giving it a nice touch on the skin. Finally, by drying slowly and without applying tension to make the best use of each process, we were able to create a shirt fabric with a moist, smooth texture that combines the firm typewriter material with a soft look.
This OKKAKE shirt is made from yarn-dyed typewriter cotton and features a stand-up collar with a classic feel and a wide box silhouette that lets in the wind. The cuffs are longer than regular shirts, giving it a more classic look. The width is roomy, but the length is short, creating a well-defined silhouette.
Partner clothes
SETTO continues to make comfortable clothes that are designed to be used for a long time. This brand has been developed since 2014 by Japan Blue Co., Ltd., a textile manufacturer based in Kojima, Okayama Prefecture, known for providing materials to domestic and international brands.
Kurashiki/Kojima, now known as the holy land of denim, was once an island floating in the Seto Inland Sea. The land that was reclaimed from shallow waters became more popular for growing salty cotton than for rice, and the spinning industry developed. Kojima has been producing school uniforms and jeans since before the war, when the Westernization of clothing began to advance, and after the war, through the American workwear boom and the jeans boom, Kojima became a representative production area for jeans. Japan Blue Co., Ltd. has been making fabrics for casual wear in Kojima, which has such a long history. That's why we continue to create clothing that is so convincing and valuable.
SETTO's distinctive feature is that it considers the development of materials to be part of its design, and is particular about threads, fabrics, colors, and shapes based on the know-how gained through textile planning and sales. We consider clothing to be a long-term partner, and continue to create clothing that values the essence of life while finding surprises, joys of discovery, and fun in everyday life.

Kurashiki and Kojima, also known as Denim holy land, are lands originally created by draining shallow water. As a result, cotton cultivation, which is more salty than rice production, is popular, and the spinning industry develops. I worked on jeans from before the war, and after the war, the work wear boom in the United States, and the jeans boom, became a representative production area of jeans.
The characteristic of SETTO is that the development of materials is also considered as design, and it is based on the know-how obtained in planning and sales of textiles, and it is stuck with yarn, fabric, color and shape. We regard clothes as a long-term partner and continue making clothes that value the essence while finding surprises, discoveries, and pleasures in our daily lives.
