A special hand-printed collaboration

A soft hand drawing typical of mina perhonen, drawn on SIWA's Japanese paper "Naoron". We have received special collaboration items that incorporate designs released by mina perhonen in the past, such as animals spending time leisurely, happy rabbits, and fluttering butterflies. This collaboration uses silk screen printing that blends easily with the material itself, and each piece is hand-printed, allowing you to enjoy the way it changes little by little along with the base Naoron.

SIWA | Shiwa is a brand that started as a washi paper manufacturer in Yamanashi Prefecture, which is known for its production of washi paper. We manufacture items using a new Japanese paper material called Naoron. Naoron was created in search of a modern, easy-to-use washi paper, and is a new material that is durable and resistant to even water by mixing pulp fibers. However, it also has the characteristic of Japanese paper that the more you use it, the more its texture increases and becomes more flavorful.

◇PC case
A laptop/tablet case with thick cushioning inside that can be opened and closed with a zipper. It is sized to hold a 15-inch notebook PC or A4 size, so it can be used to store and carry files containing documents. Being made of paper, it is lightweight and easy to use. Made with "Soft Naoron", the brand's original material that is soft to the touch. Made from wood pulp and polyolefin fiber, it is tear resistant and has excellent water resistance.

◇Pencil case M
A pen case that allows you to carry enough writing instruments for everyday use, such as 4 to 5 writing instruments, a ruler, and an eraser. Naoron's texture becomes richer the more you use it, making it the perfect material for pen cases that you use every day. The texture will also become softer. Each piece is sewn by a craftsman using a sewing machine, and the seams are almost invisible, giving you a sense of the meticulous Japanese craftsmanship. The material is ``Hard Naoron'', which is 100% polyester, including recycled polyester. Like Soft Naoron, it is water resistant and durable, but it is also a material that reduces environmental impact.

◇Pencil case L
A pen case with a capacity to hold 8 to 10 writing instruments. Unlike M, it has a partition on the inside and can be divided into two spaces, so you can compactly store a variety of things in one case. In addition to stationery, the size and structure make it easy to use in a variety of situations, such as storing a cosmetic pouch, passbook and seal, or as a passport case. Like Pen Case M, we use "Hard Naoron".

There are three types of textiles: [life puzzle], [memoria], and [run run run]. [Life Puzzle] was created by imagining how many living things live peacefully and their lives are connected, and the image of butterflies fluttering and their afterimages, created one by one using rubber blocks, is reminiscent of childhood. [memoria], which is linked to the scene of ``memoria'', and [run run run], where each rabbit lined up like a houndstooth pattern has its own personality, and a fun scene comes to mind. The gentle texture of washi paper matches mina perhonen's worldview very well.

Since it's something you pick up frequently, you should be able to feel the changes the more you use it. It is also a great choice as a gift for those starting a new life, new members of society, and students.

Bring out the charm of Japanese paper

Ichikawa Daimon, Yamanashi Prefecture, located in Kai Province, has been known as a Japanese paper production area since the Heian period. SIWA | Shiwa was born through the collaboration of Japanese paper maker Ohnao and product designer Naoto Fukasawa. Based on the idea that ``I want to incorporate the old and new material of Japanese paper into our daily lives,'' we are working on creating new products that are suitable for modern times while making use of the techniques we have cultivated over our long history.
