Jackman is a factory brand originating in Fukui Prefecture that inherited the spirit of Tanabe Mitsugu, the founder of Tanabe Meriyasu. Out of his admiration for postwar American baseball, he quit his job at the Fukui Prefectural Government despite opposition from those around him to set up a factory. It was a modest start with three flat knitting machines in a one-room, eight-tatami room.

Founder Tanabe Mitsugu was fascinated by American baseball. At first, they only manufactured stockings, but Mitsugu, who was a baseball fanatic, later expanded to manufacturing uniforms and gloves. At the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, they grew to provide training wear for the Japanese team. And that admiration is still passed down to the present manufacturing.

Jackman's sewing factory, which has been in business for over 60 years since the days of Tanabe Mokko Seisakusho, has modern sewing machines as well as Union special and REECE machines necessary for specialized sewing, which are repeatedly repaired in the repair room inside the factory.
