This small plate, about 14cm, can be used to enjoy Japanese sweets with tea or as a side plate. It is inspired by the round crest of Ko-Kutani and the Chinese child of Ko-some-pure, and features a pattern representative of Kamide Choemon Kiln. The adorable figure of a child playing and the rhythmically continuous round crest are soothing. The blue sometsuke is the base, and the colorful Japanese paint typical of Kutani ware is eye-catching. It can be used to enjoy pickles at breakfast, Japanese sweets at tea time, seasonal fruits, and of course as a side plate. Tradition in the Modern Age

Kamide Choemon Kiln was founded in 1879 in Terai-mura, Nomi-gun, Ishikawa Prefecture (now Terai-cho, Nomi City, Ishikawa Prefecture). Kutani ware is a long-established kiln with a history of over 135 years, and is a company that produces everything from porcelain molding to painting. The products are handmade and hand-painted, with colorful overglaze painting, deep coloring, and above all, durable and beautiful fabric. This long-established company, which has been in business for six generations, has recently started a new initiative to produce Kutani ware that is suited to modern times. It is a product that makes use of the traditional craft of "Kutani ware" manufacturing methods, while also making products with colors, shapes, and hand-painted designs that fit modern life, as befits a kiln that has been protecting it since its founding in 1879.

Kutani ware began with people shaping and painting it by hand, just like other pottery.

During the Edo period, the Maeda family, the lords of Kaga, discovered pottery stone and began making porcelain, and later learned ceramic techniques in Bizen Arita, and expanded to include utensils for enjoying tea. It is a traditional Japanese craft. Its distinctive feature is the variety of patterns on the clear white base, which makes it easy to use as tableware and pleasing to the eye. The appeal is in the colorful paintings that stand out against the hard, glassy white base of the porcelain.

Kamide Choemon Kiln is a kiln that has mainly produced and sold art and craft items, restaurant tableware, and everyday tableware, and continues to create products that preserve the traditions of Kutani ware.
