Kojima, Kurashiki, now known as the mecca of denim, was once an island in the Seto Inland Sea. The land reclaimed from shallow waters became a popular place for growing cotton, which is more tolerant of salt than rice, and the spinning industry developed. Before the war, when Western clothing began to become more common, the company produced school uniforms and jeans, and after the war, Kojima became a major producer of jeans, thanks to the American workwear boom and the jeans boom. Japan Blue Co., Ltd. has been producing casual wear fabrics in Kojima, a city with such a history. This is why they continue to produce convincing, valuable clothing.
