From the mountains in Ishikawa Prefecture

Mt.Artigiano is a Kaga lacquerware brand born in the mountains of Ishikawa Prefecture, a world-renowned place of traditional crafts and culture. Monte means "mountain" and Artigiano means "artisan." Yamanaka Onsen, where Mt.Artigiano's workshop is located, is literally located in the mountains. It is said that the name comes from the fact that the craftsmen are in the mountains. Bisai is a women's accessory produced in the same workshop as Mt.Artigiano.

When the company was founded in 1981, it produced traditional maki-e lacquerware such as tea ceremony utensils, but in response to customer feedback, it began to develop accessory items to suit modern tastes. Using the maki-e technique, in which gold powder is sprinkled and adhered to lacquer patterns drawn by the hand of a traditional craftsman, and then polished after drying, the company creates new, unconventional lacquer products in the hopes of "making lacquer more accessible to everyday life."
