From the mountains in Ishikawa Prefecture

Mt.Artigiano is a Kaga Maki-e brand born in the mountains of Ishikawa Prefecture, a place known worldwide for its traditional crafts and culture. Monte means "mountain" and Artigiano means "craftsman". Yamanaka Onsen, where the Mt.Artigiano workshop is located, is literally in the mountains. It was named after the craftsmen who live in the mountains. Bisai is a women's accessory made in the same workshop as Mt.Artigiano.

When the company was founded in 1981, it produced traditional lacquerware such as tea ceremony utensils, but in response to customer feedback, it began to develop accessory items that are suitable for modern times. Using the lacquerware technique, which involves sprinkling gold powder on lacquer patterns drawn by traditional craftsmen and then polishing them after drying, the company creates new lacquer products that go beyond the mold, with the desire to "make lacquer more accessible to everyday life".
