HARIO is famous for its kitchen and tableware, such as coffee utensils and tableware, but when the company was first founded, craftsmen made scientific equipment and tableware one by one by hand. As demand increased, machine manufacturing progressed for efficiency, and craftsmen's handiwork decreased. However, this also means that craftsmen's handiwork will cease and planning and development to create new technologies and new products will no longer be possible. In the midst of all this, HARIO Lampwork Factory was established with the desire to return to the basics and deliver works carefully crafted by glass artisans, and to pass on the techniques of hand-crafting to the next generation.

The extremely pure material, heat-resistant glass, is brought to life by the hands of artisans, and is shaped into delicate products one by one. When you step into the HARIO Lampwork Factory workshop, you will hear a buzzing sound, which is the sound of the burner used for lampwork (also called burner work). The glass rods, which are the material for accessories, are melted by placing them over the flame of the burner, and the artisans use tools to shape them into various silhouettes. The glass melted in a 2000-degree flame cools and hardens over time, so burner work is a race against time. It is a delicate handicraft, using tools to create small teardrop shapes, petals, and snowflake shapes.
