A folding umbrella with an elegant atmosphere that suits both men and women. From a distance, it looks chic and plain, but when you look closely, you can see the playful design with the stripes. The STRIPES men's folding umbrella for both rain and shine has joined the ranks of "parasols that men can use" from Tokyo umbrella studio wakaoo.
An umbrella that focuses on a beautiful impression
These umbrellas are not just tools, but are made to be cherished while being cared for, with a good balance of lightness, durability, and a beautiful shape whether open or closed. And each material in each process is selected with great care.
The fabric, which can be said to be the face of the umbrella, is UV-cut so that it can be used for both passing rain and sun protection with just one umbrella.
The spring and summer sun is harsh, and even going outside for a little while will make you sweat. These days, it is essential to take measures against heatstroke and UV rays in terms of health. Regardless of gender, parasols are indispensable in this day and age. Lightweight and easy to carry, folding umbrellas can help relieve the heat while commuting to work or school, so they are also recommended for men who are new to parasols.
The handles used for the STRIPES men's all-weather folding umbrellas are made of ego wood. The natural handles are comfortable to hold, beautiful, and luxurious.
We offer basic designs that are easy to use every day. Wakao umbrellas are handmade and offer a comfortable feel when you hold them. With their made-in-Japan quality and beautiful designs that go well with suits, they make great gifts.
Japanese umbrellas that should be passed down
"Kasa Kobo Wakao" was founded in 1938 by umbrella craftsman Sadamasa Wakao. At that time, Tokyo was the main production center for umbrellas. From cutting the fabric to stitching, framing, attaching the handles, and finishing, the umbrellas are carefully made by skilled craftsmen.
Today, it is said that over 90% of umbrellas distributed in Japan are manufactured overseas. There are very few craftsmen making umbrellas in Japan, and they are young, mostly in their 50s. There are also very few successors. Even so, the delicate craftsmanship unique to Japan, and the need to repair umbrellas due to bad weather, are treasures that should be passed down and cherished without interruption.
