It is a plate of Kutani ware, which is traditional Japanese porcelain made in Ishikawa Prefecture. The pattern is beautifully handpainted and expresses a peaceful landscape.

For daily use

The plate is flower-shaped with slight depth. Flowers and butterflies are decorated mainly in blue-green and the color contrast between the pattern and the base makes the pattern look gorgeous.

The plate is large enough to serve a side dish like salad, potatoes, and bread. It also works to serve dessert and fruits.

Kutani ware with bright colors

MIYAMOTO TAIZANDO is a brand of Kutani ware founded in 1909 in Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. Based on Ko-kutani, which is the oldest style of Kutani ware, TAIZANDO manufactures handpainted Kutani ware with bright colors. The brand pursues the modern style of Kutani ware that we can all enjoy using on everyday dining.

Kutani ware is one of the notable kinds of Japanese porcelain. Its production started over 350 years ago when Japan was in the Edo period. The Japanese porcelain was originally begun to make for teapots and utensils that are for tea ceremony. Usually, Kutani ware has white base which has glass-like texture and artisans paint with five different colors, that is, blue, yellow, navy, purple, and red. The porcelain acquires gorgeous overglazed paint.
