The brand was launched by Yoichi Maeda, designer and owner. Under the influence of his father, who was a custom-made shoemaker, he had a longing for shoemaking since he was a child and has been in the shoe industry since early on. Through various work to deliver shoes to people's hands, he is involved in planning and learning to make shoes. The shoe maker chausser was born out of these numerous experiences. The brand name means “wear” in French. Based in Tokyo, it is currently deployed in seven countries around the world. Thirty years later, when I see chausser shoes at a thrift store, I want to make universal shoes that don't matter to the times, and that people want to wear. And if you care for it, you want to be a “30-year-old shoe”. With that in mind, we aim to create shoes that you will want to wear all the time.
