In 1938, Mistral was born in the South of France. The origin of the brand was to make shirts for cowboys in the land of Kamaguru, where there is a large wetland.
Based on the paisley pattern introduced by the East India Company in the 17th century, a printed fabric was born that depicts small flowers, olives, insects and the sun in the colors unique to the Provence region of southern France. The founders of Mistral, Regis Raynaud and Lou Marquez, incorporated this unique printed fabric into cowboy clothing and sublimated it into an elegant fashion item. From its founding to the present, Mistral continues to make various products for cowboys while inheriting the archives of Provence fabrics from the 18th and 19th centuries.
