Exploring the Roots of Manufacturing

BOHONOMAD was born in a workshop in southwestern Turkey, located in the beautiful Aegean Sea region. When learning about the roots of rope sandals and the story of the Laramuri tribe who wear them, he was impressed by the fact that they are footwear that can be used for running, and decided to launch the brand because he felt that recreating them was what was needed today. The rope sandals that had been available until then were made of low-quality materials and were not satisfying to wear, so he set out to create something that was practical, comfortable, and sustainable.
BOHONOMAD eliminates the use of animal products and uses lightweight polypropylene, which is strong and water-resistant in all environments. BOHONOMAD also seeks to fulfill its social responsibility to the employees who make its sandals by creating continuous and insurable employment for local women, who are generally employed as seasonal workers and have had difficulty earning a steady income.
