Commitment to basic clothes

handvaerk is a cut-and-sew brand founded in New York in 2013. It was founded by former major investment banker Esteban Saba and his wife Petra, who majored in art and textile design at a university in Prague. Growing up in a family of three generations of garment and spinning mills in Peru, Esteban earned an MBA from Kago's Business School after graduating from a university in California. After succeeding as an elite bunker specializing in M&A at a major bank, he left Wall Street and launched handvaerk.

He procures Peruvian cotton (Pima cotton) himself, and handvaerk carries out all the processes from spinning, knitting, dyeing and sewing at his own factory so that he can see it. In 2015, we set up our own factory and gradually shifted to our own factory production, further improving the degree of product completion through consistent product management.
