KIMOTO GLASS

EDO KIRIKO GLASS

Have a luxurious evening drink

Edo Kiriko fascinates what you see with the delicate patterns created by the handicrafts of craftsmen and the brilliance that increases due to the reflection of light. In the Meiji era, Edo Kiriko developed as a part of the national breeding industry policy, and from the Taisho era to the early Showa era, it was used not only for tableware but also for daily necessities and lighting. It has reached a great prosperity as a product. After that, the mechanization and mass production of cut glass processing progressed, and it fell into a crisis of decline, but even under such circumstances, the tradition has been handed down by craftsmen to the present day.

Kimoto Glass's Edo Kiriko glass, which we will introduce this time, is one of the modern Edo Kiriko series in collaboration with traditional craftsman Kazushi Oba. With a cut design that has been carefully thought out to fit modern life, it will color your life as an entity that transforms your daily evening drink into a stylish one.

The delicacy and warmth of handicrafts

Edo Kiriko glass made of Kimoto glass with cutlery on transparent soda glass. It is a glass with a soft and calm impression that is different from Edo Kiriko, which has a gorgeous image. In addition to this, the unique pale color is made by bespoke glass fabric at an overseas glass factory. The light and transparent texture blends into the space.

The mouthpiece is wide and slightly squeezed toward the bottom, which makes it easy to hold and wash. The comfort that fits comfortably in your hand makes you want to use it every day. Two types of designs are available: MERMAID, which has crossing straight lines and mermaid scale-like shavings, and DOTS, which has boldly carved straight lines and small dots. .. Both of them are not the splendor of Miyoshi, but the glass that gives off a pure beauty, and it is a gem that you can feel the handiwork of craftsmen on your skin.

In addition, this Edo Kiriko glass is contained in an elegant paulownia box, so it will surely be appreciated as a gift for liquor-loving fathers and as a souvenir for foreigners. It's also nice to celebrate your marriage or give it back. Edo Kiriko, with its polite and delicate craftsmanship, is likely to be a favorite for a long time.

Make the most of tradition and build the future

Kimoto Glass (Kimoto Glass) has been operating a business with a focus on glass tableware such as Edo Kiriko for 80 years since it was founded in Asakusa, Tokyo in 1931. With the progress of mechanization and mass production of cut glass processing and the flood of low-priced imported products, many manufacturers and factories have been forced to close or withdraw, and as a wholesaler, we have been cultivating by watching the market trends for over 80 years. Taking advantage of our "ability to identify the market", we are collaborating with craftsmen and designers to make things.

"Edo Kiriko where the heart of the Japanese dwells". Thinking about what you want from glass products and what you need for glass products that are familiar to people living today, the products that are born will color the space and life with a modern and familiar design.
