Based on ergonomics, we use an original wooden pattern that emphasizes "holding your foot firmly on the instep", so you will not get tired even if you continue to wear it, and with ordinary leather shoes, two pieces of leather are layered. TOUN was born in 2020 by Oriental shoes, a leather shoe manufacturer in Nara prefecture. We aim to be a brand that conveys the background of manufacturing while advocating the concept of "New nostalgic," which means learning from the passage of time and creating new things.

The founder, Tsuneo Matsumoto, experienced the Burmese (now Myanmar) front in World War II and learned that the lack of shoes in the battlefield can lead to death. After the war, he decided that it was his mission to make shoes and serve society, and in 1947 he started making shoes as Matsumoto Kogyosho. In 1957, we established Toyo Shoe Co., Ltd., our predecessor, and worked to popularize shoes widely.
In 1964, the company name was changed to Oriental shoes, and Western machines were introduced to produce shoes manufactured by the Goodyear and McKay methods. Eventually, the technology was recognized, and we partnered with brands from Western countries such as Italy and France. Absorbing the essence of each brand became the basis for making shoes for our own brand, and after that we expanded the range of technology while working on OEM for various brands.

Our own factory in Yamatokoriyama City, Nara Prefecture, which is also known as the production center of men's shoes, manufactures a wide range of shoes from dress shoes to sneakers by various manufacturing methods such as Goodyear and stitch down.
We propose high-quality men's shoes with the aim of making shoes that are domestically produced and comparable to European shoes, and we have established a system to manage everything from wooden pattern production and outsole mold design to design, sample production, and main production.
