Delicately baked lacquer and transparent glass. Works that stand out from each other will never get tired of looking at them.
Hyakushiki (100 colors) that makes modern lacquer glass vessels while preserving Japanese tradition. The transparent lacquer earrings, which are the result of this technology, are a collaboration item with HARIO Lampwork Factory, which offers finely shaped accessories made of glass.
Charm overflowing from small motifs
The pierced earrings, where the two brands share the same world view and the beauty of each is fused, are simple and easy to use everyday, but fresh, but have a nostalgic atmosphere.
Everything is handmade and the facial expressions are different one by one, so there is a special feeling that you will want to handle it carefully, so it is an accessory that I would like to recommend as a gift for loved ones or as a gift for yourself who is always working hard.
There are 5 types of motifs. Glass has a hard image, but the design made of "circles" gives a soft impression.
- tawawa: Grains that feel the freshness of water droplets are lined up like fruits. The swaying chain creates a graceful atmosphere.
- tsurana: It features a chubby form with three small, medium and large grains that make you feel the loveliness.
- tsubusa: A cute design with a colony appearance, like two soap bubbles sticking together.
- arawa: A ring-like design with lacquer stones inlaid.
- meguri: The design of glass grains connected like a donut looks delicious.
Accessories with stones are good, but if you want to look a little more casual but elegant, the glass motif is perfect. The transparent lacquer pierced earrings, which have a glass motif and a taste of lacquer, may become something that attracts attention from the surroundings even though it is casual. It goes well with loosely tied chignon and half-up styles, and secretly creates a feeling of mellowness.
"Lacquer" and "glass"
"Useful" manufacturing that evolves tradition in a modern context. Things that are useful in life. Faithful to the basics. Things that are kind to both people and the environment.
Maruka Kosaka Lacquerware Store, which produces hyakushiki (100 colors), aims to create new lacquer glass products that keep the tradition of Kiso lacquerware making, while inheriting the Japanese manufacturing that has been preserved.
Lacquer glass has both the deep luster and Japanese color of "lacquer" and the durability of "glass". It features a light and transparent texture that shines like a kaleidoscope when light is passed through. The beautiful lacquer glass, which is gorgeous but has the taste of lacquer, is a free and new product with glass wrapped in lacquer.
Maruka Kosaka Lacquerware Store keeps an eye on the needs of the times and continues to make products to connect Japanese technology and aesthetics to the next era.
Sublimate traditional manufacturing
Maruka Kosaka Lacquerware Shop, a craftsman's workshop that has been making lacquer for over 70 years since its establishment in Kiso.
The weak point of lacquer applied to glass is that it is easy to peel off, but for many years we have been researching pretreatment methods that prevent the lacquer from peeling off. I want to sublimate the lacquerness into something that is easy to use and fun. With that in mind, we succeeded in developing a product that pioneered lacquer glass in 1994, and after further research, we have created a new fusion product of lacquer and glass, "hyakushiki (100 colors)".
With the concept of beautiful, sincere, and exciting lacquer glass, the lines drawn carefully one by one by the handicrafts of craftsmen, making the best use of traditional Japanese techniques, are the beauty that makes you want to take a closer look and the expression of each stroke. Therefore, the warmth of handicrafts and the attachment to cherish things are born.
