The brand was launched by designer and owner Yoichi Maeda. Influenced by his father, who was a custom-made shoemaker, he had an aspiration to make shoes from an early age and started working in the shoe industry from an early age. After working in various jobs to deliver shoes to people, he became involved in planning and learned shoe making. The shoe manufacturer Chausser was born out of these many experiences. The brand name means "to wear" in French. Based in Tokyo, it currently operates in seven countries around the world. I want to create universal shoes that are timeless and that people will want to wear when they see Chausser shoes at a second-hand clothing store 30 years from now. I also want to aim for shoes that can be worn for 30 years if taken care of. With this in mind, we aim to create shoes that you will want to wear forever.
