When you go on a trip, there are a variety of bags that come into play. You need a carry-on case for your change of clothes and a backpack for small items and valuables that you want to get out quickly. Keeping things organized in any bag is directly related to ease of access and use, so it is common to use pouches and bag-in-bags to keep similar items together. FJALLRAVEN has introduced a four-piece organizer set for this purpose. It utilizes a special fabric called the "Samlaren" series.
Use up limited resources in the best possible way
FJALLRAVEN has created Samlaren Pack Bags, a new line of bags made from leftover fabrics that are inevitably left over from the manufacturing process. The series name "Samlaren" means "collector" in Swedish. Originally, FJALLRAVEN does not dispose of a large number of items in its manufacturing process, but there are fabrics that are not released to the public for various reasons, such as the production lot of the fabric or discontinuation of the fabric after one season.
In 2021, we began experimenting with a pragmatic approach to limited resources: "Use what you have in the best way possible. The Sammlaren series is a special item that is launched in limited quantities each season. This time, a set of tubular pack bags in four sizes are available. With capacities of 0.5L, 4L, 5.5L, and 8L, they can be used as storage organizers to help keep your travel bag, work bag, or gym bag organized. The smallest 0.5L one has a mesh design and doubles as a drawstring to hold the other three sizes of pack bags. Each size has a different coloring, so you can use them for different purposes and easily identify what you put in which color one.
The fabrics used are, of course, those that meet FJALLRAVEN's strict sustainability and durability standards. The fabrics are not specially prepared for the SAMLAREN series, so they have the durability and functionality that FJALLRAVEN is known for. The material polyamide is nylon. It is often used in outdoor gear because of its resistance to friction and abrasion, as well as to tension and heat.
Although FJALLRAVEN has been offering this Samlaren series in its lineup each season, the long-term goal is to eliminate the need for this concept by minimizing waste and leftover fabric in production. Currently, various brands are launching these upcycled products, but we sometimes feel that the goal is to create them as if they were a fad. However, I feel that FJALLRAVEN has not lost sight of its goal in stating that its goal is to eliminate the Sammlaren series itself, and I feel that I can relate to this.
