TRICOTE, with its bright and cheerful taste, asked us to create the STONE series from an original pattern. This pattern was created by combining the concepts of both TRICOTE, which often uses nature as a motif, and ZUTTO, which introduces items that deepen their appeal over time as they are used and cherished. The result is a light and fun pattern that will make you feel better every time you use it.

The circle, a shape that symbolizes eternity that will last forever, is a shape that gives a sense of security to those who see it. ZUTTO is a select store that was started with the desire to "encounter things that can be used with lasting attachment" and "to share the joy of encountering them. The enduring meaning and sense of security of the circle shape fits well with this philosophy, which is why we decided to use a circle for this pattern.

TRICOTE is a brand that creates pop patterns, but in fact, they are often inspired by natural objects, landscapes, and phenomena. Therefore, we considered applying the meaning and shape of the circle to the natural world, and chose stones as our motif. Stones come in a variety of shapes, but the shape of a stone that is rubbed by nature and gradually becomes rounded corresponds to the appearance of a stone that is used for a long time while enjoying the changes over time, which ZUTTO values. Thus, rounded stones that have been softly transformed by nature are layered and incorporated into the design.

Using knitting machines that match each item, the company produces a wide range of items, including stoles, socks, wear, bags, hats, and miscellaneous items that add color to daily life. For example, the stoles produced by TRICOTE are made on a Jacquard machine manufactured by Bentley in England, which has been in use for 40 years. The loom can only read paper data, but in order to bring out the texture that only an old loom can produce, the machine was modified to be able to read digital data. Or, original strings are made using a machine called a cross set lace machine, which is used to make tape and fringe, or a modern knitting machine is daringly employed to knit gloves in order to achieve a good balance of shape and pattern.... In this way, textiles can be created in an infinite number of ways by combining different types of yarns and knitting techniques, and the unique craftsmanship that results from the crossover of technology and design is a distinctive feature of the company.
