Polo shirts are an essential item for your spring and summer wardrobe. Going beyond the boundaries of casual wear, polo shirts can also be used as the main focus of sophisticated styling, making them an item worth paying attention to as they expand the possibilities of diverse coordination.
Also, having a classy knit polo shirt is very convenient for hot weather outfits, and its elegant appearance that sets it apart from ordinary polo shirts and its compatibility with jackets make it possible to create exquisite styling that is not too casual, but not too formal either.
ALAN PAINE, a long-established British knitwear brand, is known for its high-quality wool knits, but for spring and summer, they have a lineup of 100% cotton knit polo shirts. They make new proposals that are in line with modern lifestyles while making use of traditional knitting techniques.
Cool and comfortable cotton knit polo
The polo knit is finished with fine 16-gauge stitches, and is characterized by its smooth texture and elegant surface texture. The high-gauge knit does not show unevenness in the stitches, and it reflects light, giving it a slight sheen.
The simple three-button placket design is accented with ribbed cuffs and hem, creating a sophisticated silhouette. It is lightweight and comfortable to wear, and does not stick to the skin, so it is comfortable even on hot days. The careful sewing that does not lose its shape also gives you a sense of the quality that only a long-established brand can offer.
New styling that shines with individuality
This knit polo shirt has a classic appeal, but also shows a new look when worn in modern style. The current trend is to wear it with wide pants for a relaxed look, or with pointed-toe shoes to add some contrast.
This polo shirt has a somewhat masculine feel, but if you wear a high-neck lace inner or wrap a scarf around your neck, you can create a stylish look that is full of originality. A cropped style that brings out your femininity or coordinate it with a skirt can also create a clean and sophisticated impression.
The sporty yet elegant polo shirt is always popular with many fashion lovers, and has a wide range of styling possibilities, such as layering it with a shirt or combining it with boyish denim. It is a versatile item that combines moderate formality and comfort.
Technology for reliable quality
The sweater is knitted to match each pattern (front body, back body, sleeves, etc.), so the knitting and silhouette come out beautifully, and a beautiful body and sleeve fitting is achieved. It is combined with small hand linking stitches, so it is comfortable to wear. The brand's trademark soft texture comes from washing the sweaters every day in natural spring water containing lime, which has passed quality checks at the factory. To maintain durability, the underarms, which are subject to stress, are reinforced with handrails. The factory is so thorough in maintaining quality that the sweaters must pass four intermediate inspections before the final inspection.
A long-established knitwear company that continues to pursue the finest materials and sewing
In 1907, William Payne, a man with a long history in the wool industry, founded ALAN PAINE's predecessor, Paines of Godalming, in Surrey, England. He started by knitting cable knit sweaters using a hand loom he found in his home's warehouse, and his sweaters became widely accepted by men and women who enjoy sports, riding the trend of sports fashion. In the 1920s, the company began to incorporate the "club colors" used as team colors for popular British club teams in boat racing, tennis, and cricket around the neck of their sweaters. This cable knit became a favorite of future King Edward VIII, and his knitwear became popular not only in London but also throughout the UK.
After World War II, in the 1950s, the company expanded into the US with funding from the British government, and began producing sweaters for well-established brands that symbolize American classics, including those worn by successive US presidents. It was around this time that William Paine's son, Alan Paine, took over the business and changed the brand name to the current "ALAN PAINE". In 2007, the company celebrated its 100th anniversary and continues to provide high-quality knitwear.
