Arne Jacobsen is one of the most influential architects and designers born in Denmark in the 20th century. He is known as the father of Danish design, having created the prototype of today's modern Nordic design. "Don't make beautiful things, make what is needed," was Jacobsen's saying. His meticulous products, which embody the perspectives of both creators and users at a high level, are still highly regarded not only in Denmark but all over the world even after more than half a century has passed.
The Radisson Collection Royal Hotel is known as Jacobsen's masterpiece and is also known as the world's first designer hotel. This limited edition wall clock was created in the image of a special room with a beautiful blue-green color, one of the suite rooms where Jacobsen's famous "Egg Chair," "Seven Chair," and "Drop Chair" were born.
Following a special room
A room in the suite where Jacobsen is said to have pursued perfect beauty. The 606 Room is the only room that has not been renovated since 1960 and still retains its original appearance. It features a beautiful bronze-blue sofa against blue-green walls. This blue-green color is a strong reflection of Jacobsen's personal taste, and is still popular with Jacobsen fans. The ARNE JACOBSEN Wall Clock Station ROYAL BLUE follows this blue-green color.
The STATION, which inspired the design, is a highly visible Arabic index clock that was adopted by Danish railways in 1943, and is originally a simple black and white clock. This design was chosen for the clocks used at stations in Denmark, which is known as a world design powerhouse, and this clock design has become a national thing for the Danish people. This clock, which was released in an initial production run of 750 units, is a valuable item that allows you to fully enjoy Jacobsen's style with its vivid blue-green and soft brown that are not found in the standard monotone products. The simple STATION design stands out even on white wallpaper without being too flashy. Blue is also a color that enhances concentration, so it is also recommended for clocks in offices and conference rooms.
A fusion of creative lines and disciplined silhouettes
ROSENDAHL, which strives to follow and nurture traditional Danish design, acquired the manufacturing rights to Jacobsen clocks, which are the pride of Denmark, and at the same time launched a revival project with the responsibility of faithfully reviving the original design.
ROSENDAHL acquired a rare surviving original clock and invited designer Tate Vaillant, one of the successors who inherited the late Jacobsen's will, to supervise the project, realizing a collaborative production.
Tate Vaillant:
Born in 1941. After graduating from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, he worked on numerous product designs at the Arne Jacobsen Architectural Office from 1966 to 1971, and was awarded the title of "Knight." He became one of the successors who inherited Jacobsen's spirit even after his death. Since 2003 he has opened his own studio and also works as a consultant for Fritz Hansen, manufacturer of Jacobsen furniture.
Being able to check the time instantly and without stress is a surprisingly important point in everyday life.
Danish national clock designs are of a high level of design and fit in well with the interiors of a variety of homes, elevating the space to a sophisticated one.
