"The relationship between food and vessels is similar to the relationship between architecture and the earth. It is a vessel that brings out new expressions for cooks, just as architects are inspired by the undulations of the earth. ] A brand of vessels by secca, a creative group based in Kanazawa, that expresses that feeling. LandscapeWare features a highly original design developed primarily for professional chefs. The lineup shown at ZUTTO is a vessel made with the image of home use while incorporating these essences, and secca as a collaboration project with local industry together with partner Shigaraki ware pottery "Akiyama kiln". It is a series that is in production.
Meizan kiln is a long-established kiln of Shigaraki ware founded in the Edo period. In 1622, the first Isuke Ishino presented a tea jar (Koshishiro tea jar) at the order of Hidetada, the second shogun of the Edo Shogunate, and received the title of tea jar master. Since then, for more than 400 years, we have been making delicate handicrafts by skilled craftsmen, taking advantage of the warm earthy taste unique to Shigaraki ware.
Traditional craft x 3D digital technology
A mysteriously shaped plate that you have never seen before. At first glance, it seems novel, but the modernist design vessel, which has a nostalgic feel to it, is made using 3D digital technology. In pursuing manufacturing every day, the manufacturing process has been renewed and the brand name has been renewed from ASCEL to LandscapeWare.
Shape of future crafts
The plate scoop M is a vessel with a shape that has never been seen before, in which the height of the rim is not uniform and part of it is raised, and the rim disappears so that it can be unraveled on the other side. Both Japanese and Western dishes make all dishes look beautiful and elegant. Just by serving the usual dishes, it seems as if you have improved your cooking skills. You will have a plate that you will want to show to others.
The method of making is also unique. First, the prototype design made with a 3D printer is copied to a plaster mold, the shape is transferred to clay, and then the original glaze is applied and fired in a kiln. This realizes a shape that cannot be expressed with a potter's wheel. The glaze selected as the Akiyama kiln was created after many studies to enhance the expression of the earthen surface unique to pottery. It's a very delicate work in which a slight difference in formulation directly appears in the expression of the product.
It's not just about the fun of the shape, it makes sense. By raising a part of the rim, it is easier to scoop the food to the end. It doesn't take up much space because it can be stacked when stored. In addition to this plate scoop M in the seriesplate scoop S、plate scoop LThere are three sizes that are easy to use. The balance of arranging in different colors and sizes is also exquisite, and it is a vessel that makes you want to arrange many.
