Founded in 1952 in the northern part of Mie prefecture, where the cotton yarn spinning industry has flourished since the Meiji era. In 1973, the prototype fabric of the original fabric "Smile Cotton" was completed, but at that time, due to the import of cheap materials from overseas and the increasing demand for synthetic fibers, "Skin-friendly Smile Cotton" was a need of the times.
