Chijimi is an ancient Japanese refreshing material made to comfortably spend the hot and humid summer in Japan, and it has become widely used by Takashima merchants nationwide. Loquat cotton is a fabric that has evolved to suit modern clothes while inheriting such a small manufacturing method.
The difference between loquat cotton and Chijimi Takashima is the twist of the thread. Chijimi Takashima uses a thread that is twisted stronger than usual, but loquat cotton is twisted from there to the limit, so it feels drier.
Next, weaving such strong twisted yarn into the fabric using an air jet loom that blows the weft with air, but that work is also difficult. Because it is twisted strongly, it often shrinks during weaving. However, when you see this beautiful appearance and elastic fabric, you will want to use it carefully because you can see that it was made carefully over and over again.

In addition, loquat cotton has been devised in the manufacturing process. The features are roughly divided into three parts.

Sugioka Orifu, which buys cotton yarn from a trading company, weaves "Takashima Chijimi", which has a history of more than 200 years, and sells the finished products. He has been producing pajamas and suteteko fabrics for many years, but at one point he felt that the clothes he wore changed with the passage of time, so he decided to make the fabrics so that he could wear them not only at home but also outside. And in 2017, we developed "Loquat Cotton", a comfortable fabric with excellent stretchability while retaining the crispness unique to Chijimi.
