BIWACOTTON maker Sugioka Orifu Co., Ltd. is located in the area where industrial materials, canvas, pajamas, suteteko and other underwear, and thin cotton fabric materials such as those used for yukata are also made.
Sugioka Orifu, which buys cotton yarn from a trading company, weaves "Takashima Chijimi", which has a history of more than 200 years, and sells the finished products. He has been producing pajamas and suteteko fabrics for many years, but at one point he felt that the clothes he wore changed with the passage of time, so he decided to make the fabrics so that he could wear them not only at home but also outside. And in 2017, we developed "Loquat Cotton", a comfortable fabric with excellent stretchability while retaining the crispness unique to Chijimi.
It is a manufacturer that not only protects the technique of Chijimi Takashima, which has continued since the Edo period, but also continues to challenge new technologies.
