It's light, non-stick, requires no special care, and can be used for a lifetime - this selfish convenience is embodied in the Ajiwai Nabe (Waterless Cooking Pot) One-Handed.
A waterless cooking pot makes even everyday recipes feel special, and many people who love cooking have longed for one at least once, or may already own one. Cooking and washing dishes are daily occurrences, so you want to be especially particular about how easy it is to use. This aluminum cast pot is especially recommended for those who have given up on using waterless pots because of the weight and difficulty of maintenance of cast iron pots.
Lightweight cast iron pot, easy to maintain
A cast iron pot typically weighs around 3kg. In contrast, the Ajiwai Nabe weighs around 1.5 to 2kg, and is characterized by its comfortable feel that takes advantage of the lightness of aluminum among cast irons. This leads to a design that is easy to handle even as you get older. Cast iron allows for preheat cooking, and it can be used as a waterless pot, as well as for cooking rice, boiling, steaming, baking, and frying...it magically performs 9 functions in one.
It is fluororesin-coated, making it easy to clean and less likely to stick. When you cook rice, it will not stick and you can get delicious scorched rice, sauces that tend to burn will come off easily, and you can safely use it for stir-frying with reduced oil. The best part about daily cooking is that it can be used easily with your usual recipes and is easy to clean.
When you hear the word fluororesin, you may be concerned about deterioration, but this Ajiwai Nabe is used by many people who have been using it every day for over 30 years, and some say they inherited it from their grandmothers and are still using it. In the first place, it is because it uses high-quality coating, but due to its high thermal conductivity, heat retention, and heat storage, it is less likely to deteriorate because it is used on high heat like a frying pan, and it is said that it can be used for about 3 to 5 years without sticking even with daily use.
Repair and use for a long time
Not only is the body carefully made, poured into a mold and cast by hand, but it is also a "second life" pot that will last a lifetime, so you can rest assured that if the coating peels off, it can be repaired. Not being disposable is not only kind to the household budget and the earth, but also leaves a lasting impression of long-term attachment and family memories.
The one-hand type is heavy and easy to handle, so you can literally hold it with one hand, and compared to a two-handled pot, it can be hung. It is easy to pick up and use every day. It is easy to use for stir-frying and simmering, and is especially recommended for those who often use it like a frying pan.
Homemade flavors are born here
Ajiwai pot made by Bunka Light Metal Casting Co., Ltd. in Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture. Bunka Light Metal Casting Co., Ltd., which was one of the first to start aluminum casting in Kawaguchi, a town of casting, carries out integrated production at its own factory, producing aluminum cast architectural hardware and cooking utensils. Based on the idea that "it is the responsibility and belief of the maker to create products that can be used for a long time," the company has repeatedly honed its aluminum casting technology, and finally created Ajiwai Nabe.
Ajiwai Nabe was born in 1985. Many Japanese seasonings, such as soy sauce, miso, and mirin, tend to burn easily. For this reason, the basic principle of a pot suitable for Japanese home cooking is that it is not easily stuck. And to "make delicious food," it is important to use a material that transfers heat quickly and evenly, a shape that allows for free-flowing convection, a highly airtight lid, and high heat retention. Ajiwai Nabe achieves these goals with its "thick aluminum material," "roundness," and "lid" that is as heavy as the pot itself. When the first generation was created, it was still rare to hold a "Housewife Monitor Conference," but after repeated cooking tests by five housewives, a pot that is easy for anyone to use was finally completed.
In 2023, under the supervision of the designer who has been involved in the design since the product's launch, the specifications were changed to be more environmentally friendly, and a repair service was launched. Each and every Ajiwai Nabe is crafted with the desire to share the unique Japanese pleasure and culture of flavor with the world.
